Develop your practice in resilience and mental well-being coaching
The Resilience and Mental Well-being Certified Coach program is a 70-hour advanced program for coaches who have completed Level 1 or previous coach training and want to deepen their understanding of resilience and mental well-being and integrate this work into their coaching practice.
It explores what happens when clients are under pressure: how they interpret their experience, respond emotionally and physically, and find ways to move forward.
You will connect concepts from psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral science with practical coaching approaches. The emphasis is on developing your understanding and judgment, not simply adding tools: considering what is happening for the client, what may be useful, and how to apply an approach thoughtfully.
Alongside your work with clients, you will also explore your own resilience and the practices that help you sustain your effectiveness as a coach.
What you will explore
Module 1: Introduction to Resilience and Mental Well-being
How does a client make sense of pressure, and how does that influence their response? This module explores the relationship between stress, coping, resilience, and mental well-being.
You will work with stress theories and resilience coaching models to look more closely at the client’s experience and consider how that understanding can inform a coaching conversation.
Case studies connect the concepts to practice, with attention to the coaching relationship and the ethical considerations involved in this work.
Module 2: Advanced Techniques for Building Resilience
This module deepens your understanding of how stress affects emotions, the body, and the capacity for change. You will explore emotional regulation, the neuroscience of stress, and the conditions that can support or hinder change.
Working with resilience and well-being assessments, mindfulness, and self-reflection, you will practice interpreting what emerges and using it to inform your coaching.
The focus is on developing awareness and choosing approaches that fit the individual client, rather than applying the same tools in every situation.
Module 3: Mental Well-being Strategies
This module brings together mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and somatic coaching, including awareness of the body and its responses to stress.
You will explore applications for individuals, leaders and teams under pressure, consider how approaches may differ across populations and settings, and develop a resilience toolkit for your practice.
You will also turn the lens toward yourself, examining personal resilience, self-care, and how to build a sustainable coaching practice.
Learning that connects understanding with practice
This is a practice-oriented program. Working with advanced faculty members and invited specialists, you will explore the concepts, apply tools in coaching practice, and reflect on how they inform your work with clients. Case studies, practical exercises, mentor coaching, and supervision give you opportunities to examine your approach and develop your skills.
The Learning Management System (LMS) is an important part of the experience. It gives you space to build on the live learning, explore topics more deeply, and revisit material as your understanding develops. Videos, selected research, knowledge checks, and reflective activities help you connect the learning to your own experience and coaching practice.
Research is woven throughout the program to deepen understanding and inform practical application. Together, the live sessions and online learning create room to explore, practice, reflect, and bring the learning into your work.
